Georgella Muirhead, APR, brings more than 50 years of communications experience to the 98Forward team. She founded Berg Muirhead & Associates, now 98Forward, with longtime colleague and business partner and Bob Berg in 1998 and served as president for 18 years. Under her leadership, Berg Muirhead and Associates grew to be one of the region’s leading public relations agencies. The agency has executed communications campaigns tailored to meet the needs of more than 150 clients from a diverse group of industries.

Before forming Berg Muirhead with Bob, she served 24 years as a government public relations administrator in the cities of Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Southfield and Detroit where she led a 32-member communications team, as well as operated Georgella Muirhead Communications, Inc. In 2004 she served as project manager and spokesperson for the Detroit Democratic Presidential Debate and in 2008 she served as spokeswoman for the Congressional Black Caucus Institute’s Myrtle Beach Democratic Presidential Debate.

Georgella is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. She has been recognized with more than two-dozen national, state, and local awards for outstanding work in the field of public relations and communications including a PRSA Silver Anvil award for excellence in government communications and the American Marketing Association Grand Effie Award for student recruitment and community engagement.   PRSA Detroit honored Georgella’s extensive career and significant impact on the profession, installing her into the PRSA Detroit Hall of Fame in 2021. Georgella is a graduate of Leadership Detroit class X, and a former board member of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the Detroit Public Television station WTVS-Channel 56.
